About us

From the beginning, it was never about fast-paced fashion — but about clothing that empowers every woman to express her own personal sense of being.

Inspired by the influences of Japanese designers, we developed the first OSKA collection in 1998. A minimalist handling of areal cuts, natural materials such as linen, cotton and wool, and a colour scheme of our own have made the collection something special ever since.

Every season, we write a new chapter — but not a new book.

Sustainability is the starting point of every collection. Our bestsellers return in each one, in different forms and always reinterpreted; the goal is clothing that is durable and timeless, and still pleases next season and the one after.

Design philosophy

Clothes that don’t disguise — they reveal.

How a personality comes across — and how clothes can help — is the question our designers face. Clear, simple shapes and choice materials stand for an unostentatious but unique look: casual and elegant at the same time, with comfortable, flexible fits that give you freedom to move.

The design is based on continuity: inspired by trends but true to its line, made to be mixed and matched — also across collections. Asian-inspired silhouettes, lively surfaces and intricate details such as buttons and collars set the accents.

Our trademark

Three letters, worn three ways.

Striking, individual, and against the grain of mainstream fashion — relaxed comfort, flexibility, and high-grade tailoring.

  • the feminine silhouette

The flattering A appears in all lengths, from the short top to the ankle-length dress. Fitted shoulders; below the bust the design gains volume and ends in a flared, even swinging hemline. When the hems move down and narrow, conically tapered trousers turn the look into eveningwear.

  • the purist silhouette

Straight vertical lines for a graphically emphasized, clearly structured look — the horizontal hemline sometimes irregular, asymmetrical. Hip-length and longer straight-cut tops over wide ankle-length trousers, calf-length culottes, or narrow, subtly tapered shapes.

  • the expressive silhouette

Round and voluminous — comfortable at the hips yet figure-flattering, showing the most width at calf height before the silhouette tapers off and becomes narrow again at the ankle. A maximum of wearing comfort, and a statement of an independent fashion sense.

The OSKA colour palette

Coloured

— yet never colourful.

Colours evoke emotions and create moods. Our philosophy of colour is calm and unobtrusively orchestrated: a subtle scheme of diffuse, subdued natural tones — regardless of seasonal trends. Soft and warm nuances hold their own next to cool, smoky and shadowy neutrals; luminous shades occasionally form a striking contrast.

Much of the collection is garment-dyed — finished pieces placed in the dye bath — so all pieces of one colour group show the same nuances and harmonize perfectly. Special pigments and washes add the OSKA vintage effects: a linen jacket like washed pebble stone, a cotton dress like sun-bleached terracotta.

A significant design element

Quality

A far-reaching concept — with respect to products, customers, suppliers and employees. Every cloth is tested for tensile strength, abrasion, colour-fastness and pilling before it earns the label.

From sketch to garment

Five months, three gates, one standard.

  1. Creating the collection

Colour themes, fabrics and patterns are developed with meticulous consistency. A new collection takes five months.

  2. Production

The heart of OSKA production is our Czech affiliate PRO LEN — its own dye house, a long textile tradition, and partners we oversee personally.

  3. Quality control

Tested for tensile strength, abrasion, colour-fastness and pilling — and for everyday life in the washing machine. Oeko-Tex Standard 100.

From the journal

Sustainability

Sustainability is not a campaign at OSKA — it is where every collection begins. In the journal we write about it regularly: how our garments are made, what they are made of, and what happens once they are worn and loved.
